Gift-based ministries

Our church meets needs both at Memorial and in the community by serving according to our gifts and abilities! These teams, led by deacons, include all ages and levels of ability.

Meal Ministry Team

This team will share God’s love for people by providing food to church members during difficult times of crisis or transition.

Grief Ministry Team

This team will seek to let people know they are not alone in the shadow of their losses by walking with them. It will support persons affected by loss such as the death of a loved one, job loss, separation and divorce, and permanent or long-term impairment. The team will also seek to support long-term caregivers, including offering respite care.

Welcome Ministry Team

This team will introduce people to the Memorial experience by publicizing the work and life of the church; contact people after their initial visits to Memorial; and seek to incorporate newcomers into the life of Memorial.

Prayer and Encouragement Ministry Team

This team will seek to pray for specific needs and, when permissible, share those needs with others for support. The team will also write notes of encouragement and communicate the needs to others for possible follow-up.

Helping Hands Ministry Team

This team will seek to serve by assisting those in need with small jobs including, but not limited to:

Household duties, such as general maintenance (light bulbs/HVAC filters/smoke detectors/ door locks/cleaning drains), electrical, plumbing, roof repair and HVAC, Yard duties, such as grass cutting, leaves, gutters and seasonal planting. Painting: interior/exterior Seasonal cleaning/tasks, such as windows, etc.

Ride Ministry Team

This team seeks to serve by offering rides to and from church activities, to doctor’s appointments, and other needs for people in our community who are unable to drive themselves.
